In Europe, the side seemed destined to wrap up the elusive Champions League trophy after vanquishing their nemesis from the previous season, Bayern Munich, in the quarter-finals; however, they would come up short against an inspired City side in the Semis. This design features a striking Bordeaux colourway inspired by the Air Jordan VII 'Bordeaux' basketball shoes worn by Michael Jordan in the 1992 All-Star Game
